A fire broke out Monday evening at a car dealership in Lake Zurich that specializes in late model luxury and exotic vehicles, according to a Lake Zurich Fire Department press release.
The Lake Zurich Fire Rescue Department was called to Midwest Motors, 540 Cortland Drive in Lake Zurich, just after 5 p.m. Monday for a report of a fire and smoking coming from the second-story roofline of the two-story auto dealership, according to the news release.
All occupants were able to safely evacuate the building and no injuries were reported. Also, several vehicles were able to be removed from the first floor of the dealership and the majority had no damage.
The sales and showroom suffered from water damage. The fire was contained to the second floor office and attic space, which had significant fire, smoke and water damage.
The fire remains under investigation and no damage estimate is available.
The following fire departments provided assistance at the blaze Monday: Arlington Heights, Barrington, Barrington Countryside, Buffalo Grove, Deerfield, Fox River Grove, Libertyville, Lincolnshire, Long Grove, Palatine and Wauconda fire departments. The Wheelng and Mount Prospect fire departments provided station coverage and responded to other calls for service.
