DUI Charges, Attempted Scams

ALCOHOL

Everett Gregory Jr., 34,  of the 800 block of Victory, Waukegan, was charged with driving under the influence, driving on a suspended license and unlawful possession of a weapon at 2:05 a.m. Oct. 18 at Milwaukee Avenue and Busch Parkway.

Matthew W. Erlichman, 23,  of the 100 block of Crestview, Buffalo Grove, was charged with driving under the influence, driving with a blood-alcohol content above the legal limit, possession of drug paraphernalia, no insurance and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident at 12:23 a.m. Oct. 23 on St. Mary’s Parkway.

A golden/brown cat was found Oct. 16 on the 800 block of Weidner Court South and turned into the police department. The cat did not have a microchip and no owner could be located. 

FRAUD

A complainant reported receiving a phone call Oct. 21 from a man claiming to be Officer Michael Blake with the IRS. The caller stated if he didn’t pay his back fines he would be arrested. The complainant recognized this was a scam and hung up.

A complainant reported receiving a phone call from someone who claimed to be a lieutenant with the Cook County Sherriff’s Warrant Division. The complainant was told that he had a warrant for a red light camera violation and needed to deposit money into an account. The complainant realized it was a scam and ended the call.
