Bus Hits Electric Pole During Morning Storm

A school bus collided with a pole early this morning.

No one was injured when school bus driver collided with a ComEd pole during this morning's storm, Buffalo Grove police said.

A Patch reader reported seeing the bus with a power line draped over it at 7:30 a.m. July 24 at the intersection of Buffalo Grove Road and Main Street.

No children were on the bus at the time, Cmdr. Jim Newton said. He said he was not sure where the bus was from or where it was heading.

Emergency crews and ComEd responded to the scene, and ComEd temporarily shut off power while the line was removed and the pole was restored, Newton said.

Those affected by the outage were among about . As of 3:30 p.m., the electric company's outage map showed that fewer than five customers, in a neighborhood southeast of Dundee and Buffalo Grove roads, remained without power.
