Burglars Break Window, Pry Door Open

ALCOHOL

Mark R. Jankiewicz, 44, of the 800 block of Happfield, Arlington Heights, was charged with driving under the influence, driving with a blood-alcohol content above the legal limit, driving on a suspended license, no insurance and illegal lane use at 9:56 p.m. Sept. 13 on Whitehall Drive and Arlington Heights Road.

Rudolph J. Sanchez, 39, of the 100 block of Brompton, Sugar Grove, was charged with driving under the influence, driving with a blood-alcohol content above the legal limit and speeding at 2:28 a.m. Sept. 15 on Milwaukee Avenue and Johnson Drive.

ATTEMPTED SCAM

A resident reported a scam involving an item he was selling on Craig’s List. He told police Sept. 13 that he received an email from a person who wanted to buy the item and send him a check. After further contact he realized this was a scam and requested the incident be documented.  

BURGLARY

A resident of the 100 block of Villa Verde reported Sept. 14 that the front door to their residence had been pried open and items inside were stolen.

A resident of the 700 block of Patton reported a broken second story window on Sept. 14. It appeared that someone had attempted to gain entry but was unable to do so.

DRUGS

Gracjan I. Rusew, 21, of the 20000 block of William, Lincolnshire, was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and improper lighting at 1:04 a.m. Sept. 13 on Deerfield and Weiland roads.

LOST/FOUND ITEMS

A complainant on the 2900 block of Main Street reported losing an envelope with two passports inside between Aug. 19 and Sept. 14.

A resident found a bicycle at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 13 on the 800 block of Marseilles Circle. Officers responded and located the bike’s owner. The bike was returned.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

A resident of the 200 block of North Buffalo Grove Road reported someone broke the outer pane of a double pane window to the building on Sept. 16. It appeared that the damage was caused from a rock that was thrown at the window.

UNWANTED VISITOR

A complainant reported a person was bothering employees and customers at 6:09 a.m. Sept. 14 on the 1200 block of Dundee Road. Officers arrived and spoke with the person, who agreed to stop bothering others.
