ranked 22nd in DUI arrests, according to a 2010 survey of Illinois police departments conducted by the Alliance Against Intoxicated Motorists.
The department charged 222 drivers with driving under the influence last year, according to a June press release from AAIM. In 2009, Buffalo Grove made 298 DUI arrests.
Buffalo Grove ranked 17th in DUI arrests per officer last year, with its 69 officers making an average of 3.22 arrests, according to the release.
AAIM has conducted the survey for 21 years to track DUI arrests and recognize the most productive departments and officers in that regard, according to a press release. Through a grant from the Illinois Department of Transportation, nearly 700 police agencies were surveyed, with 74 percent responding.
