Buffalo Grove Man Faces Child Pornography Charges

David Braun faces three counts of felony pornography charges.

Buffalo Grove resident David Braun has been charged with three counts of aggravated child pornography following an investigation by .

Braun, 51, of 15 Wakefield Lane, had pornographic images of children from the Internet on his computers, police said.

Buffalo Grove investigators worked with the Lake County State’s Attorney's Office to obtain a search warrant for computers and related files at Braun's home. The search warrant was served March 22.

Police found three images of child pornography on Braun's computers, resulting in the three counts, Buffalo Grove Cmdr. Jim Newton said. The computers will be examined further by Lake County State's Attorney's investigators, Newton said. Braun could face additional counts if more images are found.

Aggravated child pornography is a Class 2 felony, punishable by two to seven years in prison. If found guilty, Braun also faces a mandatory fine of at least $1,000 and up to $100,000.

Braun's bond was set at $100,000 during a hearing March 22 at the Lake County Courthouse in Waukegan. His court date is April 17.
