Buffalo Grove Man Charged with Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse

Joshua H. Comm is charged with having sexual intercourse with a minor.

A 21-year-old Buffalo Grove man is charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse after allegedly having sexual intercourse with a minor.

Joshua H. Comm, of the 2100 block of Avalon Drive, was indicted Aug. 21 by a Lake County grand jury, the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office announced Thursday.

The indictment follows a July 2 arrest by Buffalo Grove police after a teenaged girl told police that she had intercourse twice with Comm between February and April, Buffalo Grove Cmdr. Jim Newton said. The girl was 15 and 16 years old during that time, Newton said.

Newton said Comm and the girl were coworkers when the alleged encounters occurred. Because one of the alleged encounters took place on the Cook County side of Buffalo Grove and the other in Lake County, Comm was charged in both counties, Newton said.

Comm was released after posting $1,000 of a $10,000 bond. His arraignment is set for Sept. 4 at the Lake County Courthouse in Waukegan.

The Lake County charge is a Class 2 felony. If convicted, Comm could face three to seven years in jail with a possible extension to seven to 14 years, a Lake County State’s Attorney spokeswoman said.
