BG Police Report Successful July 4 Crackdown

Extra patrols helped keep streets safe during the holiday.

The announced today (Thursday) the results of its July 4 seat belt and DUI enforcement mobilization.

The effort netted eight arrests for driving under the influence, one suspended driver’s license, two unlicensed driving arrests and two fugitive warrant arrests. Buffalo Grove police officers also issued 102 seat belt citations and 16 cell phone use citations.

“The positive effect of DUI and seat belt saturation patrols cannot be diminished," Sgt. Scott Kristiansen said. “The results are safer roadways for everyone who travels through our village.”

The extra patrols in Buffalo Grove were funded by a grant from the Illinois Department of Transportation.
