2 Catalytic Converters Stolen from Cars

Buffalo Grove police received two reports Sunday from vehicle owners whose catalytic converters were stolen.

Buffalo Grove police received two reports of catalytic converters stolen from vehicles at 12:30 p.m. Sept. 27.

One vehicle was parked in a lot on the 100 block of McHenry Road, while the other was in a lot on the 600 block of Lake-Cook Road, police said.

Catalytic converter thieves sell the parts to scrap yards, according to Nationwide Insurance. The company offers theft prevention tips on its website.
