it's a beautiful day ...

In the old days it was a the simple things that kept us going. Something to believe in, like, a dream, a belief , a plan. A roof over our heads, something for our bellies, clothing on our bodies and we were happy. Less acquisitions meant less distractions, reduced pressures and allowed us more time to relax.

It was called the good old days!

With the advent of technology, it's said, life is made easier. Easier access to communications, more efficiencies in the workplace and a higher degree in safety. All those explanations are correct however this robotic mentality might be taking us in the wrong direction!

Traffic cameras, killing drones, computer virus, job replacement, and on and on...it's all about communication and I believe we're going in a downward spiral. It's no longer about hanging out on a front porch and greeting your neighbors on the sidewalk. Now it's driving into the garage, hitting the remote and retriving into the privacy of your backyard. It's no longer the camaraderie in the workplace.

Now it's email and voice mails and computerized reports. The family no longer eats meals together and when they do, it's all about the smart phone.

I know you get my drift and you're right, change is eminent, ongoing, consuming and the same problems that haunted the past, continues to emerge in the present.

People aren't anymore fulfilled now than our ancestors were. They may live longer with medications and food choices but not necessarily healthier. Our clothes , big houses and fancy cars don't make us any prettier on the inside than in the past. Our knowledge is abundant, our opportunity is vast but our choices and decisions are in question.

So I ask you- where are we headed. In what direction? Is it a path that will lead to another beautiful day?
