Sente Urges Community to Go Red for Women

Vernon Hills, Ill. – State Representative Carol Sente, D-Vernon Hills, joined the American Heart Association for a special event to raise awareness of heart disease at the Illinois State Capitol on Wednesday morning.

“Heart disease is a very serious illness, and it is important that we not only raise awareness of the signs and risk factors associated with the disease, but also promote living a healthy lifestyle,” Sente said. “By making heart-healthy choices – like taking the stairs instead of the elevator – we can create a healthier Illinois.”

Sente is encouraging everyone to show their support for “Go Red For Women” by wearing red on February 7 in observance of National Wear Red Day. National Wear Red Day, an initiative of the American Heart Association, sets out to raise awareness in the fight against heart disease, which is the most common cause of death in Illinois.
