VERNON HILLS, IL – In an effort to help reunite constituents with their lost or unclaimed property, State Representative Carol Sente, D-Vernon Hills, is sponsoring an I-Cash Workshop with the Office of the Illinois State Treasurer on Monday, July 22, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Indian Trails Library, located at 355 Schoenbeck Road in Wheeling.
“The State Treasurer’s Office is working to connect about 1.7 billion dollars in unclaimed personal assets with their rightful owners,” Sente said. “I encourage everyone to attend, or to take a moment to search the public I-Cash database, to see if they or someone they know may also be entitled to unclaimed property.”
Representatives from the State Treasurer’s Office will be available during Sente’s free event to help residents search for unclaimed property on the I-Cash database and fill out the necessary paperwork to retrieve it. Staff members from Sente’s full-time constituent service office will also be in attendance during the event to answer questions about state services and gather feedback on legislative issues from constituents.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for my constituents to locate and claim their lost property, while also sharing their thoughts on the legislative issues facing our state,” Sente said. “During these difficult economic times, it is important that my constituents be made aware of every resource available to them.”
