Sente Involves Community in Legislative Process; Holds a “Back to Session” Town Hall Meeting

Vernon Hills, Ill – State Representative Carol Sente, D-Vernon Hills, held a Back to Session Town Hall Meeting with State Representative Elaine Nekritz, D-Northbrook, and Wheeling Village President Dean Argiris on Tuesday night in Wheeling.

“It was wonderful to see so many of our neighbors coming together for a public dialogue on the complex issues affecting our state and community,” Sente said. “Topics raised by the attendees included developing a healthy climate for economic development, transportation initiatives, tax increment financing districts, and condominium association foreclosure issues.  We also discussed several of my bills for this coming session, many of which began as ideas from constituents or local organizations including pro-business measures, youth safety/advocacy, and new initiatives for budget savings and good government.”

Residents from throughout Wheeling and neighboring towns attended to learn more about legislation from the past year, and issues anticipated for the upcoming session. Residents who were unable to attend Tuesday’s event are encouraged to attend Sente’s Coffee Shop Stop on Saturday, January 25 from 9-10 a.m. at the Dunkin’ Donuts located at 215 Dundee Road in Wheeling.
