Sente Initiates Local Sustainability Dialogue

Vernon Hills, IL –State Representative Carol Sente, D-Vernon Hills, met with her Environmental Citizens’ Advisory Committee to learn about local environmental initiatives and gather ideas for future legislation on Wednesday night.

“As the former owner of a green architectural firm and Vice-Chair of the House Environment Committee, I am always interested in hearing more about innovative new ways that we can make Illinois a cleaner, more sustainable state for generations to come,” Sente said. “I appreciated collaborating on future legislation with so many interested members of our community, and I also look forward to partnering on local initiatives to promote recycling and other priorities that aim to keep our neighborhoods sustainable.”

Those in attendance at Sente’s Environmental Citizens’ Advisory Committee included local green advocates and members from a wide variety of environmental advocacy groups, including the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County, the Lake County Forest Preserve, the Riverwoods Preservation Council, and the Highland Park Natural Resources Commission.
