Sente Hosting Discussion with Local Environmental Community
Vernon Hills, Ill. – State Representative Carol Sente, D-Vernon Hills, is hosting an Environmental Citizens’ Advisory Committee Meeting in the Youth Services Meeting Room of Vernon Area Public Library in Lincolnshire from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, April 28.
“During this meeting, local environmental advocates and green organizations will have the opportunity to engage in a lively discussion focused on local and state sustainability initiatives and green jobs, as well as to discuss current legislative proposals that impact our environment,” Sente said. “I encourage anyone who is interested in the environment to attend and make their opinions on these very important issues known.”
In Springfield, Sente serves as Vice-Chair of the House Environmental Committee and as a member of the Green Caucus, through which she has served as an ongoing advocate of legislation to shape a sustainable future for Illinois. Earlier this year, Sente introduced House Bill 4227, an initiative to help streamline electronics recycling efforts and increase the likelihood that potentially hazardous items will be disposed of responsibly.
