Sente Holds Interfaith Breakfast with Local Religious Leaders

Vernon Hills, Ill. –State Representative Carol Sente, D-Vernon Hills, held an Interfaith Breakfast on Thursday at Congregation Or Shalom in Vernon Hills with local religious leaders.

"Being part of a community where we can share so many traditions and cultures with each other is part of what makes the holiday season so special,” Sente said. “Our breakfast allowed us not only to celebrate the diversity of our community, but also to discuss the challenges facing local families and identify ways faith groups and government can work together towards addressing these major issues.”

Sente’s interfaith breakfast was attended by a variety of local religious leaders and advocates; including Rabbi Scott Looper, Congregation Or Shalom; Pastor Doug Meyer, Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit; Vicar Kyle Severson, Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit; Pastor Chris Gearhart, Lakeview Presbyterian Church; Pastor Mark Selbo, St. Andrew Lutheran Church; President Irshad Khan, Islamic Foundation North; Outreach Committee Member Helena Abushamaa, Islamic Foundation North; and Outreach Committee Member Amir Abushamaa, Islamic Foundation North.
