Sente Extends Legislative Internship Opportunity to Local Students

VERNON HILLS, Ill. – State Rep. Carol Sente, D-Vernon Hills, announced that her office will begin taking applications for her Legislative Internship Program.

“Due to the overwhelming success of my Summer Legislative Internship Program and with much encouragement from past interns, I am extending the program’s availability into the fall and winter months,” Sente said. “This internship is a unique, exciting way for students with a diverse set of career interests and backgrounds to develop their existing abilities, and acquire new skills.”

Interns will assist Sente and her legislative team with community outreach efforts, district research, event planning and data management. In addition, students will have the opportunity to attend meetings with Sente and assist in constituent service to develop a detailed understanding of the operations of a full-time constituent service office.

“As an active voice for young people in Springfield, I hope to continue incorporating our youth in the legislative process and believe this internship is another opportunity for students to become actively engaged in our community,” Sente said. “I strongly encourage students who are interested in government, or passionate about making a difference in their community, to apply.”
