Vernon Hills, Ill. – State Representative Carol Sente, D-Vernon Hills, joined the Vernon Hills Park District, the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County (SWALCO), Westfield Hawthorn Mall, and AT&T in co-hosting their annual Recycle-O-Rama and Shred Day on Saturday morning.
“As an avid recycler, it was reassuring to see hundreds of attendees taking advantage of our free electronics recycling and shredding event,” Sente said. “It is my hope that we will continue observing high attendance at these annual events, as it means a growing number of residents are making environmentally friendly practices a part of their everyday lives.”
Residents interested in learning more about Sente’s sustainability initiatives are invited to join her Environmental Citizens’ Advisory Committee, which meets biannually to discuss a variety of legislative topics relating to the environment.
