Lincolnshire, IL – On Friday, State Rep. Carol Sente (D-Vernon Hills) capped off a successful Food Drive to donate much needed items to the Vernon Township Food Pantry.

“I want to personally thank everyone who helped to make this Spring Food Drive a success,” Sente said. “It was heartwarming to see a variety of different organizations working together to address the scarcity that the Vernon Township Food Pantry was experiencing. There was a void and we all worked together to help fill it. I am proud to be a part of this wonderful community”

At the end of February, the Vernon Township Food Pantry announced that they were in need of a variety of different items ranging from peanut butter and jelly to shampoo. Sente, along with other community groups came to the pantry’s aid throughout March and helped restock their shelves.
