Sente Opens First Meeting of New Business Committee

State Rep. Carol Sente (D-Vernon Hills) opened the first meeting of her new Business Growth and Incentives Committee with a discussion of how to improve the business climate in Illinois.

SPRINGFIELD, IL – State Rep. Carol Sente (D-Vernon Hills) opened the first meeting of her new Business Growth and Incentives Committee with a discussion of how to improve the business climate in Illinois.

“One of my goals for this committee was to make it not just a venue for presenting bills, but a forum for discussion where we can hear from experts and interested parties to craft new ideas to help Illinois businesses,” said Sente. “I hope to continue this practice in future meetings so that we can have a real impact on Illinois’ business climate.”

Friday’s committee hearing was attended by Adam Pollet, Acting Director of the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. The discussion focused on getting residents of Illinois back to work, helping small and mid-size businesses prosper in Illinois, evaluating the state’s disparate tax incentive program, and working with federal, state local partners to strengthen the Illinois economy.
