Sente Hosting Advisory Committee, Women’s Self-Defense Class and Senior Spelling Bee

State Rep. Carol Sente (D-Vernon Hills) is hosting an Environment Citizens' Advisory Committee Meeting, Women's Self-Defense Class, and Senior Spelling Bee.

LINCOLNSHIRE, IL – In addition to visiting community meetings and touring local businesses, State Rep. Carol Sente (D-Vernon Hills) is hosting an Environment Citizens’ Advisory Committee Meeting, Women’s Self-Defense Class, and Senior Spelling Bee throughout the upcoming week to provide state services and engage constituents in the political process.    

“It is important to me as a representative to stay in touch with my constituents through a variety of different mediums and these informal events help me in accomplishing that task,” Sente said. “I look forward to sharing ideas on legislative proposals and hearing updates on community issues while I am back from Springfield next week.”

On Monday, April 22 at 9 a.m., Sente will be hosting an Environment Citizens’ Advisory Committee Meeting, where residents will participate in a tour of the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County (SWALCO) facility during their signature Household Chemical Waste Collection Events and discuss sustainability efforts in her community.

On Wednesday, April 24 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Sente will be co-hosting a free Women’s Self-Defense Class with the Mundelein Police Department.  Participants will learn safety and awareness tips, as well as defensive maneuvers.

On Monday, April 29 at noon, Sente will be co-sponsoring a local edition of the Illinois State Senior Spelling Bee with Sedgebrook and the Illinois Department of Aging. This event will provide participants age 50 and up the unique opportunity to display a lifetime of knowledge and celebrate years of experience through their spelling abilities.
