Fall Program Registration is underway! The program guide can be viewed online now at www.nsymca.org. Be sure to check out all our new classes and activities! Sign up before August 24 to pay reduced early registration rates. Fall I classes begin September 3.

Special Membership Promotion on Now! Join the NSYMCA before September 30, 2013 and pay no joiner’s fee. Group exercise programs at the NSYMCA are on a modified summer break schedule now through September 1. Visit http://nsymca.org to view fitness class schedules during this period.

New for Fall: Adventure Guides at the NSYMCA! This outstanding program brings dads and children ages 5 through 9 together for social activities, campouts, and more. Self-directed circles choose their schedules and activities with coordination from Y staff. Circles are being organized in August. FC United Soccer is coming to the NSYMCA this fall! Beginning September 3, FC United Soccer Club will offer an eight week soccer workshop for kids ages 5-7. Participants will learn basic soccer rules, skills, and teamwork from professional FC United coaches. One-hour practices meet on Tuesdays at 4:15, with one-hour games on Saturdays at 9:00am. Exercise Connection, a leader in physical fitness training for individuals with special needs, now offers a fitness course for adults with autism spectrum disorders at the North Suburban Y. Classes focus on core skills including body image, posture, motor coordination, muscular fitness and cardiovascular fitness.  Northbrook resident and Director in Training for the Exercise Connection, Laura Fine will lead the class. Class size is limited and one-on-one aide support is available. The Y is proud to offer professional massage services from Align Wellness Center. Appointments are available for 25 minute or 55 minute sessions in our comfortable Health Center, adjacent to our adult locker rooms. Sign up for appointments at the Y front desk. Do you have a child in half-day kindergarten? Enrich their experience with the Y’s Kindergarten Club extension program! Kindergarten Club creates a fun, full-day experience to support your child’s social and academic development. Afternoon sessions are available, including transportation to/from public schools in Northbrook  as well as St. Norbert’s. Hot lunches, snacks, and even swim lessons are all included! Also, check out Y-Time, the NSYMCA’s afterschool program for grades K-5. Limited openings available in each program. Parents, please note: non-member guests under the age of 18 must have a signed waiver on file to use YMCA facilities. Please stop by the front desk for more information. Also, unattended children under age 10 are not permitted in the building.
