Make It Easier for Someone To Contact You On LinkedIn - Add Your Email Address And Phone

Make it easy for someone to get in touch with you immediately if they are interested by adding your email address and telephone number to your LinkedIn profile.

As I continue with my discussion of how small business people can use LinkedIn to market and network, I must raise a cautionary flag. I find a large number of LinkedIn members make a major error on their profiles. You make it difficult to get in touch with you immediately.

The purpose of networking, is in fact not to sell something, but to see if there is a mutual interest in extending a casual meeting to the next level. However, if someone is interested in connecting with you immediately, make it easier for them to do so. Add your email address and telephone number to your profile.  You can even add you street address as well.

If you were at a face to face networking event, you would offer a business card to someone you might be interested in further discourse with, wouldn't you? Your business card lists your basic contact information. Well, the same holds true on an online business networking site such as LinkedIn.

There are at least three places to add that information – your contact information section (right sidebar), your personal information section (bottom of profile), as well as your summary section (below your profile highlight box). So be wise and avoid missing future opportunities to connect with someone... add your contact information to your LinkedIn profile if it is not there already.
