Growing Up in Austin on Chicago's West Side

Rhonda Steinlauf talks about growing up in Chicago's Austin area. She boasts of her independence as a child, how much family meant in those days and divulges some family secrets and idiosyncrasies.

My sister, Rhonda Steinlauf, recently ventured into the digital world of Web 2.0 and writes articles for the Internet, engages in social media sites such as LinkedIn, Twitter and perhaps is even starting on StumbleUpon as well. (Note: She has had a Facebook page for a while to keep up with the 'boys'.)

I even encouraged her to learn to do her own digital audio recordings using a free, open source program. I put together this video slide show as the first sample of her work. In it Rhonda narrates the article she wrote on Jewish Melting Pot. She allowed me to go public with it on YouTube as well. Welcome to the 21st century!

In her article Steinlauf talks about growing up in Austin, on Chicago's west side. She boasts of her independence as a child and how much family meant in those days. Rhonda also divulges some family secrets and idiosyncrasies. I guess you will just have to watch and listen to the video to learn the revealed details...

Rhonda speaks often about her years at Austin High School. I am trying to encourage her to start a new page or even a Web site dedicated to the Tigers of Austin! Others could contribute about experiences, teachers (good and bad), classes, extra curricular activities, events, etc. She could publicize reunions (one of her passions, although I don't see the charm!). Even outside activities such as AZAs, BBGs as well as other youth organizations can be added as well.

I would add my infamous story about...(to be revealed only on the site). What could you contribute?
