Can Your Student Make A Difference in Our Community?

Do you have a middle or high school student who would like to make a difference in our community? Students are invited to attend an exciting and fun Kick Off event for the new Link Together Student Coalition on Saturday, October 26th from 9am-1pm! This free of charge event is open to students in grades 7-12. Lunch will be provided. The Kick Off will be held at OMNI Youth Services' conference space: 1111 West Lake Cook Road, Buffalo Grove.

The Link Together Student Coalition is a student-led initiative, with a goal to create a community that supports youth and their healthy choices around non-substance use. The coalition seeks to directly impact alcohol and other illicit drug control policies, and create awareness by working locally to support healthy teens. Through the EYPC curriculum, developed by the Center for Prevention Research & Development and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, students will be empowered to work with local governing bodies to adopt policies that create healthier communities. This one day kick off event will introduce students to the policy change process, show them how to assess community standards and needs, and give them the opportunity to meet other students interested in creating healthy communities all while building their social and leadership skills. After this Kick Off event, the Link Together Student Coalition will meet regularly, once a month and will be involved in student-led activities throughout the year. Space is limited, please register by Wednesday, October 16th by clicking HERE. Please contact Danielle at 847-353-1586 with any questions.
