Starting with the May 21 Veterans Assistance Commission (VAC) meeting, the commission will move its meetings from the Lovell Federal Health Care Center to the Forest City Community Center located at 2001 Virginia Ave., Great Lakes, IL. The move is being made due to the need for additional parking space.
The VAC is a state mandated commission pursuant to the Illinois Military Veterans Assistance Act. The commission provides emergency and claims assistance to the military veterans and their dependents in Lake County.
The VAC of Lake County meets on the third Wednesday of each month from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The VAC principal office is located at the Lake County Veterans Center, 20 S. Martin Luther King Ave., Waukegan.
