More than 100 government, business, and civic leaders came together for the first ever Lake County Leaders Summit hosted by Lake County Board Chairman Aaron Lawlor, along with the Lake County Municipal League and the Barrington Area Council of Governments. The purpose of the meeting was to open dialogue, share ideas, and foster relationships. The group discussed opportunities to collaborate, including sharing services and resources in the areas of technology, equipment, and purchasing. Other ideas discussed were coordinating building services, joint bidding for things like salt, and making investments in transportation, access to public transit, healthcare, and housing. There will be four regional leadership roundtables around the county in March to delve deeper into these issues, and for leaders to explore opportunities to collaborate and work effectively together.
