Help Landing a Job for Recent College Grads

About to start your job search after college? In college and trying to get a jump on the job market? Help is here through a "College to Career" class offered by the Stevenson Foundation.

The Stevenson High School Community Foundation is offering a timely class that will help SHS alumni who are recent college graduates land their first job.

On Wednesday, July 18, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., the Foundation will present, "From College to Career," a course that will help college grads make the transition from grade earner to wage earner. The cost of the course is $10. It is open to recent college graduates, as well as those who are current college juniors and seniors. The class will be held in Room 2104 of the Stevenson West Building; those attending should park in lot B.

The instructor is Bob Placko, a 30-year human resources executive at Motorola. For the past seven years, Placko has served in the career-counseling center at Carthage College, where he pioneered a four-week course focused on the job search process.
