Holiday Weekend Makes Blood Donation Easy
During the Labor Day Holiday weekend, local residents have a great opportunity to pay it forward. A blood drive will be held right here in our town making it incredibly easy to help someone in need. Think about it. You have a three-day weekend. Why not take some time to make a positive contribution to society? All donors at this drive will receive a free 2013 Buffalo Grove Days Blood Drive t-shirt courtesy of American Enterprise Bank, Beckley CPA and Gold Medal Ideas.
Did you know there is no substitute for human blood? That is why it is so important for eligible donors to donate blood on a regular basis. The Buffalo Grove Blood Commission is holding their quarterly community blood drive in conjunction with Buffalo Grove Days on Saturday, Aug. 31 at the Buffalo Grove Park District Alcott Center, 530 Bernard Drive from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Your donation makes a world of difference not only to the recipient, but also to the patient’s family and friends. Won’t you help make a difference? Visit lifesource.org or call 877-543-3768 to schedule your life-saving appointment. Walk-ins also welcome.
Blood donors must be at least 17-years-old, 16 with parental consent, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in general good health. There is no upper age limit and most medications are accepted. The donation process takes about an hour and is both safe and comfortable.
