"D.C. Cupcakes" Comes to Indian Trails Library

"D.C. Cupcakes" sisters share secrets from their new book.

The sister-owners of Georgetown Cupcake, a bakery made famous by the TLC channel reality show “D.C. Cupcakes,” are getting out of the kitchen to travel to the Indian Trails library in Wheeling for two hours of calorie-free fun on Thursday, October 18.

Katherine Kallinis Berman and Sophie Kallinis LaMontagne will be at Indian Trails to promote the publication of their new cookbook, “Sweet Celebrations,” between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. at 355 Schoenbeck Rd., Wheeling.

The sisters will share their adventures in the cupcake business, their TV show and
publications. Registration is limited and required for this program by calling 847-279-2232 or online at www.indiantrailslibrary.org. Books will be available for purchase at the event.

“Katherine and Sophie helped launch the cupcake revolution back in 2008,” explains Susan Dennison, Head of Communications Services for Indian Trails library. “The sisters are continually inspired by their spatula-wielding grandma whose recipes are served every day at all of the Georgetown Cupcakes locations.”

Library patrons are also invited to bring a copy of their favorite cupcake recipe to
the event. The library will compile the collection of recipes gathered at the
event and make it available on the library’s website just in time for the
holidays.
