Buffalo Grove to Hold Nov. 11 Veterans Day Celebration

The event will feature speeches, free food, music and a 21-gun salute.

The Buffalo Grove Park District will host its annual Veterans Day celebration Nov. 11 at Buffalo Grove High School.

The event will begin with free refreshments from 12:15-1:15 p.m. from Culver’s, followed by the ceremony at 1:30 p.m.

The ceremony will feature the presentation of the colors by Marine Air Control Group 48 — Great Lakes, a service flag ceremony by Champion Eagles Color Guard Post #208 American Legion Arlington Heights, must by the Brass Quintet from the U.S. Navy Band — Great Lakes.

Speakers will include U.S. Senator Mark Kirk, Buffalo Grove resident and Army veteran Lou Ellison, U.S. Army Col. Tom Cogdall, and Buffalo Grove Park District Commissioner Dr. Larry Reiner.

The program will conclude with a 21-gun salute by Marine Corps Firing Detail.
