Toni Preckwinkle Joins the Northwest Suburban United Way Women’s Leadership Council for Coffee and Conversation

The Northwest Suburban United Way Women’s Leadership Council is proud to present Coffee and Conversation with Toni Preckwinkle. The morning’s conversation will focus on the value of mentoring and facilitate the exchange of community resources centering around educational achievement goals.

A community leader for over two decades, Toni Preckwinkle began her term as Cook County Board President in December 2010. As a former Chicago school teacher, and current change leader, Preckwinkle understands the need for impactful education programs. She strives to improve the community by implementing effective programs that improve the quality of life for her citizens.

The United Way Women’s Leadership Council aspires to empower the women of our community to bring about meaningful change. Since its inception a decade ago, this group of women has grown into a national network of some 50,000 members in 120 U.S. communities, and the most successful philanthropic effort of its kind. With more members giving more money than any other similar women's group, the United Way Women's Leadership Council has raised in excess of $700 million and set a target of $1 billion by 2012.
