Reception for the Northbrook Senior Drop-In Painting Group Exhibit at the Y

The
Community Art Gallery at the Y will be adorned with a variety of unique displays
in February. The Northbrook Senior
Drop-In Painting Group will showcase their work along with photographer Bill
Sanders who will be sharing his portraits and composites.  Receptions are scheduled for February 4 from
2-4pm for the Northbrook Senior Drop-In Group; and February 26th
from 5:30-6:30pm for Bill Sanders.

The
Drop-In Painting Group from the Northbrook Senior Center gets together every
Thursday to create individualized art in a social setting.  Some of its members have painted all their
lives while others are first time artists, but all share one thing: the love of
creating art.

The YMCA’s Community Gallery features monthly public
exhibits that showcase the talent of local artists. Most art displayed at the
YMCA is for sale, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the North Suburban
YMCA's Visual Arts Department. The next exhibit in the gallery will include the
work of Eva Kainer. For more information about the Community Gallery, contact Cathie
Winnie at (847) 272-7250 or cwinnie@nsymca.org.
