If you enjoy science and are a good listener, you have the “chemistry” to be a judge!
This year’s 7th grade Science Fair will be held 6 - 7pm on Thursday, December 13, 2012 and 8 - 11am on Friday, December 14th. We are in need of event judges and report judges for this exciting and educational event. You will assist our current 7th graders in their quest to move to the next level of Science Fair competitions.

Don’t worry, you don’t need to be a Newton or an Einstein to be a judge! Prior to judging the rules and instructions will be explained to you by Mr. Lewis, our science teacher. First time judges are paired with experienced partners.
Event Judges: work in pairs and are responsible listening to four student presentations and judging their exhibits at the fair. Approximately 1- 2 hours is needed and you can select one of the times below:
Thursday, December 13th from 6 – 7:00 p.m. OR
Friday, December 14th from 8:00 – 11:00 a.m.
Report Judges: are responsible for reading and reviewing six written reports. All reports will be distributed the week after Thanksgiving and must be judged by Monday, December 10th, giving you almost two weeks. You can complete this in the comfort of your own home!
We know December is a very busy time of year with holiday planning, but the time commitment is minimal.
So volunteer today to be a judge and prepare to by blinded by science!!!

We request each event judge to allow time to judge four different projects, spending an average of 20-30 minutes per project. Each project will be evaluated by a minimum of 4 judges (2 teams). Mr. Lewis will give instructions and scoring worksheets to the judges at the beginning of each judging session.
If you are a report judge you will be provided the criteria and scoring sheet for each report. You are able to read, review, and score the reports on your own time. We just need the reviewed reports back by the week of the science fair.
We appreciate your time, talent and service to benefit the science education of our students. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Evelyn Jennings at 847.372.5148.
