Through an in-depth look at the classic tractate Pirkei Avot,
this class will discuss the ethical issues that confronted our ancestors as well as those that we
continue to struggle with. Topics will include: The connection between our actions and our
reward, in this life and beyond; the balance between personal needs and communal
obligations; partnerships with those with unseemly backgrounds or businesses, and social
relations between the sexes.
