Community fundraiser for late Wheeling musician.

A suburban foundation that provides musical instruments and lessons for struggling suburban students holds its annual fund raiser at 6:30 p.m., March 2 at Ristorante Abruzzo in Deerfield.

For the Love of Music, In Memory of Keith Halls, is named for Keith Halls, who died of a heart attack at the age of 21 at his home in Wheeling. Halls played drums and guitar, said his mother, Marilyn.

“He lived and breathed music,” she said. “Keith was always for the less fortunate so I know he would be so proud of this foundation.

“We work with local agencies to obtain our students,” said Marilyn. “We have a boy who has been taking guitar lessons for the past year and a half and enjoys every minute of it.
