Fine Day for a Round of Golf
Tuesday's snow storm changed the landscape at the Buffalo Grove Golf Course and served as a reminder to who's really in charge of the world around us.
The last thing any sane folks among us was thinking about Tuesday was golf, right?
That's why I ventured out --camera in hand--to the Buffalo Grove Golf Course to make a few pictures.
As I was trudging through rising snowbanks near the golf shop, Paula Wagasky, a pro at the course, stuck her head out the door.

"You are doing what I've always wanted to do," she said, "take pictures in the snow."
Well, Paula, be careful what you wish for. It WAS fun but in a windy, snow-in-your-face kind of way.

The blowing snow had covered fairways, greens and tables, buried golf carts past their wheels and grounded more than a few birds.
The reshaped landscape had a certain desolate beauty to it, though. And it served as a reminder who's really in charge of not only the greens and tees, but the rest of the world around us: Mother Nature.
