WHAT: One hundred leaders from United Power’s faith-based and civic member organizations will assess the willingness of candidates to balance taking care of our state’s most vulnerable residents and addressing the harsh fiscal realities in our state.

United Power leaders will present three issues and solutions affecting families within their membership: expanding and improving health care, rebuilding Southwest Chicago neighborhoods devastated by foreclosure, and increasing supportive housing for people with disabilities.  Candidates will then have time to present their top priority and demonstrate their willingness to challenge their own party’s orthodoxy in the interest of seeking concrete solutions to everyday problems affecting our families and communities.

WHERE: St. Martin's Episcopal Church 1095 Thacker St Des Plaines, IL

WHY:   Addressing the real needs of people in our state will require citizens and elected officials to work together in seeking creative solutions.
