Village To Hold Sept. 11 Anniversary Ceremony

The community is invited to this event at Buffalo Grove High School.

Residents are invited remember the fallen heroes and those who gave so much in the days that followed Sept. 11, 2001 at an event planned in conjunction with the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks.

The event, which will begin at 3 p.m. Sept. 11 at , will include patriotic music by the Buffalo Grove Symphonic Band and a visit by Wayne Messmer, who will perform Aaron Copland’s A Lincoln Portrait and the National Anthem.

The ceremony will also feature Village President Jeff Braiman, the police and fire Honor Guard, and speakers from the and , military and local clergy.

Speakers will include Brig. Gen. Gracus Dunn, U.S. Army and Commander of the 85th Support Command, and Congressman Robert Dold.

The invocation and benediction will be given by Rabbi Lisa Bellows of and Rev. Margaret Gramley of .

The event, which is a joint effort by the , Buffalo Grove Arts Commission and Buffalo Grove Symphonic Band, is free and open to the public.
