Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued; National Night Out Canceled
The warning is in effect until 7:15 p.m
Our area is now under a severe thunderstorm warning.
The warning will be in effect until 7:15 p.m. According to the National Weather Service, radar showed a line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing hail the size of half dollars and winds in excess of 70 miles per hour.
Counties that will be impacted by these storms include: Lake, McHenry, northwestern Cook and northeastern Kane.

Buffalo Grove's National Night Out festivities, originally scheduled to run until 8:30 p.m. were called off at 6 p.m. due to the impending storm.
