Rain Barrels for Sale

Orders must be placed by March 30 through Buffalo Grove's Environmental Action Team.

The 's Environmental Action Team is taking orders for rain barrels and composters, which will be available for pick-up from 8-11 a.m. April 7 at .

The 55-gallon barrels come in a variety of colors and cost $60 each. Each barrel comes with a spigot, is insect-resistant and easy to install. Accessories are also available.

Rain barrels must be ordered before March 30. No barrels will be sold on pick-up day. Order forms are available the or by visiting bgparks.org.

Using rain barrels benefits the environment by reducing sewer runoff, helping gardens and landscape thrive, reducing water bills, and reducing stress on our water supply. Rain water is a great source of water for home gardens. It is free, can be used anytime, and it is actually higher quality than the water that comes from the faucet. Fluoride and chlorine are not desired by plants, and rain water does not contain the chlorine and fluoride that is in the water we use in our homes.
