These were among the reports released March 10 by the Buffalo Grove Police Department.

ALCOHOL

A resident of the 100 block of South Buffalo Grove Road reported seeing two young girls enter the building carrying a case of beer at 9 p.m. March 9. The resident did not see what unit the girls entered, but pointed out the car. An officer ran the license plate and called the owner, who stated that his 18-year-old daughter was driving the car and that he would pick her up.

Someone cut the screen to a window of a home on the 100 block of St. Mary’s Parkway between 10 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. March 9.  A neighbor had noticed the activity and chased the subject away. The resident found two windows partially open. Officers checked and found no evidence that entry was gained. The suspect was described as a white male, about 17 or 18 years old.

A resident of the 100 block of St. Mary’s Parkway stated that someone opened the backyard gate and partially opened a second floor window between 9 a.m. and 10:45 p.m. March 9. Entry was not gained to the house because window stops only allowed the window to open partially. Officers located two other windows where entry was attempted.

PHONE HARASSMENT

A resident reported March 9 that she has been receiving hang up calls at least twice a day for the last seven months. An officer determined that the number from the caller is for a cell phone in Los Angeles.  When the officer dialed the number, it rang, then disconnected. The resident will think about changing phones numbers.

A complainant reported that her vehicle was damaged while in a parking lot on the 1400 block of North McHenry Road between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. March 8. A long scratch was made in the paint running the length of the right side of the car.

THEFT

A resident was notified on March 9 that someone used their ID to open a Charles Schwab account. The account has since been closed and the company will follow up.

VANDALISM

A Public Works employee reported that a driver going in the opposite direction at Port Clinton and Sandalwood roads threw a cup of liquid at the village truck at 1:45 p.m. March 9. The area was checked for the other vehicle, which was not located.
