Get Out: BG Days, Dog Show, 5K

1.

Where/When: Raupp Blvd. and Lake Cook Rd; Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, Sept. 2 - 5.

Why Go: This annual event features a carnival, live entertainment, bingo, food, arts and crafts, bbq challenge, a parade on Sunday at 1 p.m., fireworks and much more. See festival coverage on Patch for more detailed information.

Pricing: Free admission.

Where/When: ; 9:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 3.

Why Go: 36 teams of 2 players will compete in 2 rounds of 18 holes at both Willow Stream and Twin Creeks Parks in a best-shot format. Players are required to use PDGA approved golf discs. All ages are welcome to play. Lunch will be served at between rounds and an awards ceremony will take place at Willow Stream Park immediately after the final round.

Pricing: $20 per person.

Where/When:; 11 a.m.; Saturday, Sept. 3.

Why Go: Sponsored by , this dog show is for all Buffalo Grove dogs. Event categories include best-groomed, best trick, best costume, best couple (owner and dog), celebrity look-alike and best behaved. Prizes will be awarded. This event is free and no registration is required.

Pricing: Free.

Where/When: ; 8 - 10 a.m., Sunday, September 4.

Why Go: The Buffalo Grove Stampede is a Chicago Area Runners Association (CARA) certified race. New this year, the race is also part of the CARA circuit. It will start at 8 a.m. and conclude around 10 a.m. Several streets will be closed to traffic during the race. For maps of the routes, as well as registration information, please visit bgstampede.org.

Pricing: $30 per person on the day of the race for the 5k and 10k; $20 per person for the walk; $22 per person for families with three or more runners.
