Arlington Heights Road Construction Begins

Southbound traffic will be restricted to one lane until August.

A stretch of Arlington Heights Road north of Lake-Cook Road in Buffalo Grove will go under construction this spring and the project is expected to last through the summer.

Work on the southbound bridge between Auburn Lane and Checker Road is tentatively scheduled to begin April 3. The work is projected to be completed in August.

The work will include the removal and replacement of the southbound bridge deck beams, sidewalk and curb replacement, road resurfacing, pavement markings, landscaping and bike path drainage improvements under the bridge.

Southbound Arlington Heights Road traffic will be reduced to one lane during the project. The northbound lanes are not expected to be affected, according to the Lake County Department of Transportation.

The work will begin on the west side of the bridge, sending traffic to the inner lane. Construction will then continue on the east side of the bridge, directing traffic to the outer lane.
