Wheeling Administrator Elected to National Board of Directors

Wheeling High School’s Associate Principal for Instruction Erin DeLuga has been elected to the Board of Directors for the National Consortium of Specialized Secondary Schools for Math, Science, and Technology (NCSSSMST). She, as well as Wheeling High School, has partnered with the organization for three years. The Consortium fosters, supports, and advances the efforts of those specialized schools whose primary purpose is to attract and academically prepare students for leadership in mathematics, science, and technology. DeLuga will serve on the Consortium’s technology and publications committees. “By serving on the NCSSSMST Board, I hope to expand our STEM for ALL model on both a state and national level,” says DeLuga. NCSSSMST was established in 1988 to provide a forum for schools to exchange information and program ideas and to evolve alliances between them. There are approximately 100 secondary school members representing nearly 40,000 students and 1,600 educators. Over 75 affiliate members—colleges, universities, summer programs, foundations, and corporations—share the goals of transforming mathematics, science, and technology education.
