Historical Yet Hysterical, Buffalo Grove High School Stages Its Winter Play, The Complete History of America (Abridged)
Five hundred years of American landmark events will be covered in a 90-minute Buffalo Grove High School theatrical production--short on time, but long on laughs—Thursday through Saturday, Dec. 5-7, in the school’s Miller Theater. Thursday’s curtain time for The Complete History of America (Abridged) by Adam Long, Reed Martin, and Austin Tichenor, is 7 p.m., and Friday and Saturday’s performances begin at 7:30 p.m. The “gold card” performance is at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4.
The light-hearted romp through hundreds of years of U.S. history, presented at warp speed, takes on the discovery of America, the Constitution, freedom of expression, civil rights, racism, sexism, homophobia, the Electoral College, conspiracy theories, and more, told through puns, word-plays, and slapstick sketches.
Cast members are the following students: Zoey Allan, Milan Babic, Jesse Brooks, Elizabeth Clary, Cassie Deck, Dylan Dewitt, Mark Ellis, Cole Festenstein, Colin Groh, Jeremy Hamburger, Mary Hussey, Emilia Kluz, Trent Leggs, Brian Lynch, Veronica Maniak, Domingo Morales, and Cami Rier.
