Buffalo Grove To Host 2014 District 214 Concert Band Festival

The District 214 Concert Band Festival will take place on Tuesday, March 4, at 7:30 p.m., at Buffalo Grove High School. The Buffalo Grove High School concert, featuring concert bands from Buffalo Grove, John Hersey, and Wheeling High Schools, will take place in the school’s Miller Theater, 1100 W. Dundee Rd. in Buffalo Grove. Visiting Assistant Director of Bands at the University of Illinois Ashley Jarrell will be the guest conductor. Jarrell conducts the Hindsley Symphonic Band, University Band, teaches course in undergraduate conducting, and works with the Marching Illini. He served previously as a graduate teaching assistant with the University of Illinois Bands holding the “Belgian Fellowship.” He is active as a clinician and adjudicator across the United States.
