Buffalo Grove to Host 2013 Combined District 214 / District 21 Orchestra Concert

This year's Combined District 214/District 21 Orchestra Festival, hosted annually by Buffalo Grove High School, will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 29, at 7 p.m. in the school theater. The high school is located at 1100 W. Dundee Road in Buffalo Grove.

The festival provides an opportunity for the middle schools and high schools to combine their efforts in orchestral music education, as the students rehearse together and then present a concert to the general public. Middle school students receive advance exposure to the high school orchestra programs, and high school musicians are able to look back and see how far they have come in their expertise with their instruments.

The combined District 21 Orchestra consists of 7th and 8th graders from Holmes Middle School, London Middle School, and Cooper Middle School. District 214 performing ensembles include Wheeling High School Symphony Orchestra and Buffalo Grove Symphony Orchestra. The groups will showcase a variety of music throughout the evening that is sure to please all tastes.
