Buffalo Grove Presents Its Annual Pops Concert, "Traditions: 35 Years of Music and Memories"

The Buffalo Grove High School Orchestras and the sponsoring orchestra parent organization, FOTO (Friends of the Orchestra), will present the school's annual Pops Concert, "Traditions: 35 Years of Music and Memories," on Saturday, Nov. 2, at 7:30 p.m.  The gymnasium again will be transformed into a concert venue as family, friends, alumni, and community members gather and listen to musical memories from past BGHS Pops Concerts. The evening will conclude with the performance of a recently commissioned piece composed by BGHS alumnus Michael O'Konis, creating yet another musical memory.

The concert will feature Jazz Band I (directed by Ed Jacobi), "By Popular Demand" Vocal Jazz Ensemble (directed by Debora Utley), and the BGHS Full Orchestras, (directed by Allison Chambers and Elizabeth Bennett, BGHS Director of Orchestras).

There will be raffle baskets, silent auction items for bidding, and concessions. Some items available for raffle and silent auction include Lyric Opera tickets and posters, an evening at Cooper's Hawk, hotel and restaurant outings, split-the-pot raffle, and many more!  Raffle tickets may be purchased prior to the event in the lobby and throughout the evening at the back raffle tables. Refreshments will be available for purchase.
