Buffalo Grove H.S. Sponsors Annual Trick or Treat Food Drive
Buffalo Grove High School's Student Council is sponsoring its annual Trick or Treat Food Drive in the school's attendance area on Halloween, Thursday, Oct. 31. Students will go door-to-door through residential neighborhoods during regular "trick or treat" hours, collecting nonperishable items to donate to the Kingswood Emergency Food Pantry for families in need. All food items are appreciated but especially requested are cooking oil, rice, dried pinto beans, spaghetti, spaghetti sauce, applesauce, peanut butter, flour, canned vegetables, macaroni and cheese, tuna, jelly, chili/stew/meat soup, and cereal. The Buffalo Grove freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior who collects the greatest amount of food items will receive a prize, courtesy of the Student Council. Residents are asked to donate generously from their pantry, when BGHS students arrive at the door on Halloween. The food will be used to help stock the shelves of Kingswood's Food Pantry for those less fortunate.
